At Moreton Bay Raiders Rugby League Club, we strive to be strong, sustainable, and community focused club for all the members of the Moreton Bay community to participate, learn and have fun playing rugby league with a positive and safe environment.
The Moreton Bay Raiders Rugby League Club is developing a strong club culture that underpins our actions and the way in which our Club is run. The Clubs key values are:
In 1978 the club, originally named “Deception Bay Raiders, Junior Rugby League Club” was formed,
operating out of Maine Terrace Fields, Deception Bay, wearing blue and yellow similar to that of the
Parramatta Eels. The Deception Bay Raiders then relocated to its current location, 64 Government
Street, Deception Bay in 1998, changing strip colours to maroon and gold. Over the next 20 years
The Deception Bay Raiders became very successful winning numerous grand finals and Chairman
trophy games.
In 2018, looking for a fresh start, the club saw a major rebrand and facelift. Renaming “The Moreton
Bay Raiders” and changing strip colours to maroon, black and white. Working from the bottom up,
the club has grown to be respected within the community and prides themselves on discipline, on
and off the field. Since the change The Moreton Bay Raiders have successfully been the recipients of
3, Division-1 premierships, 2, Division-3 premierships, 1, Division-2 Minor premiership and 2,
Division-3 Minor premiership.
Managed by a voluntary Committee whom are reselected annually, oversee the operation of the
club. All coaches, managers and trainers are volunteers who freely give their time weekly to ensure
and enable that the young people within the community are able to experience and learn the game
of Rugby League and play in the true spirit of the sport.
The club will enter negotiations with the Moreton Bay regional Council to be able to negotiate funds
on expanding on current facilities with the hopes of securing a second set of changing room facilities
to expand on the club’s growth and secure female participation for the future.
The club has an expected growth of 10% per annum over the next 5 years, with the inclusion of the
North Lakes area, one of the largest growing suburbs on the North Side of Brisbane which boarders
on the club’s location. The club’s current affiliation with NRL’s Redcliffe Dolphins will only enhance
and increase further opportunities and development for the club.
